The Sorolla Museum, is a museum of state ownership and direct management of the Ministry of Education.
It’s dedicated to exhibit the work of the painter Joaquín Sorolla (Valencia 1863-Cercedilla 1923). The Museum is installed in the old house-workshop that the painter had built in 1910. It’s divided into 5 main areas: the garden, the ground floor, an old kitchen area, organized around the so-called Patio Andaluz; his work area, composed of three successive studies; the rest of the main floor, noble area of the house, and the second floor, transformed into temporary exhibition halls.
